Leech Ribbon is a tough yet ultra soft material. They are free-form made so size and shapes may vary. Tapered ends can be achieved by holding the material over a heat source, allowing it to melt, and then gently pulling the material apart.
Durable flies are achieved by inserting the hook into the material and over a base of thread which has been lightly brushed with superglue and then securing the butt with thread. Binding the material with tight wraps of thread only is not recommended as the material will migrate over time and split or break. See our fly tying section on this web-site.
